I notice from an earlier podcast that the boys don't have shoes or money for the return fare.

Could Race Recon maybe advise what logistics are in place and what is needed. People may then be able to respond
    with offers.
I gathered from earlier postings that their parents will be here to meet them etc?

Maybe this is all in place as there seems to be a lot going on behind the scenes that is not detailed
    on these pages.

I am holding my breath, so excited for you and learned something more about the sea namely the Continental Shelf. I will get up during the night to see how ye are paddling- you should be there any time! Again god speed and another joke
A little boy was attending his first wedding.

After the service, his cousin asked him,
"How many women can a man marry?"

    "Sixteen," the boy responded.

His cousin was amazed that he had an answer so quickly.
    "How do you know that?"

    "Easy," the little boy said.

"All you have to do is add it up, like the pastor said,

    4 better, 4 worse, 4 richer, 4 poorer."

I've been following your 'adventures' since you left Forster. You guys are incredible. My only sailing experience was on the Young Endeavour a few months back and I loved that. I'm now watching the metre count down until you land and will stay up until you arrive. You two are awesome and what you've done is something you should be so proud of.

    CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!

    Hey James,

Waou, you're a legend! I saw you guys on the news a couple of nights ago and couldn't believe my ears!! Well, in a way I was not surprised that you were achieving of your long time goal. I remember vividly you telling us about your dream in the red festiva as we were driving on Paramatta road towards the mountains for one of our last climbing weekends, remember??? Sorry, I've been head down in research lately with not much time to listen to news and things .... But hey, this made my month! It's such an amazing thing to see your achieve your goal. Thanks so much and all the very best for the last miles. Hope you feel and are well.
Come on James, keep it up, if you can do El Cap, you can do anything! Just a paddle at a time. Niiiiice :)
I want to catch up with you one day back in Syd. Ok?

I wonder whether you guys will repeat Ed Hillary's famous words and say "we have knocked the bastard off". Perhaps you could also donate a portion of the proceeds from interviews , magazine articles or a book dedal to the Hillary Foundation? THis will really endear you to NZ and make you feel good at the same time!

    Hi there,

Im new to all this. But I'm trying to find out how useful solar panels on expeditions are. I am trying to find out all the problems and issues which may relate to them.
Im interested in Flexible solar panels because of their obvious ease of portability, but am wondering how well they work in reality (e.g. issues with solar panel being perpendicular to the sun when it inherintly bends)

    Thanks everyone

I would like to inform everyone who uses this forum that on Saturday 5th July, OL OILER passed away. He was at home with his family, just like he wanted. Ol Oiler put up a strong, brave fight right until the end, and we are all so so sad and we will miss him enormously. James and Justin's journey and this forum was Michael's (Ol Oiler) joy, and he looked forward to reading all the entries and contributing as he reminisced about 'the good old days' at sea. His family would like to send a HUGE thank you to all that wished him well and kept him in their thoughts and prayers.
Thank you Jan for your kindness throughout Michael's illness. We look forward to seeing you again.
    To James and Justin,
you selfessly gave Michael your time and he and all his family are very grateful and appreciate what you have done. It means the world that you both and all the others made Michael feel special and loved.
Ol Oiler is now at peace....
Thiis I do on behalf of his daughter Natalie (my sister, aka 'Mrs Ol Oiler'), our mother Margarita and all our family and loved ones.
